Here’s the link to download Offline NT Password and Registry Editor and instruction on how to use it.
If your computer allows booting from floppy disk or cdrom, your Windows’ password can also be reset using some boot disk or CD like that one. You should disable booting from any disk, like floppy, cdrom, flash drive. etc. except for hard drive in BIOS setting if your computer is public computer or you don’t want others to reset your password.

I have downloaded Windows Password Recovery Tool 3.0 from http://sn.im/resetwindowspassword. it not only supports XP, 2000, and NT, I have personally tested it with Vista Home Premium and Ultimate. It works perfectly to reset any local user account to a blank password. I Wrote it to an old 128mb USB flash drive do this. GUI interface with mouse clicking instead of command prompt

It’s a nice tool but it doesn’t support UEFI-based computer. Fortunately I get another program called PCUnlocker – http://www.windows8-password.com/windows-8-uefi-password-cracking/, which successfully helps me remove my forgotten Windows 8.1 password.
